“If they hadn’t shot down the fourth plane it would’ve hit the dome.

Donald Rumsfeld was also caught saying the plane was shot down at a press conference:

Cheney has been quoted as saying:

Well, I discussed it with the president. Are we prepared to order our aircraft to shoot down these airliners that have been hijacked? He said yes.

Bush said:

That’s a sobering moment, to order your own combat aircraft to shoot down your own civilian aircraft. But it was an easy decision to make, given the–given the fact that we had learned that a commercial aircraft was being used as a weapon. I say easy decision. It was–I didn’t hesitate; let me put it to you that way. I knew what had to be done.

An interview with Condoleeza Rice:

Dr. RICE: There was that horrible time when we wondered if Flight 93 had, indeed, been shot down by an American pilot.

PELLEY: On the orders of the president.

Dr. RICE: Yes.

PELLEY: It is quite possible that those people gave their lives for you.

Dr. RICE: Its entirely possible. In fact, I think it’s probable.

If that is what they did, why lie?? Why did they try to convince us that the plane was intentionally crashed? Most likely it was to further a sense of pride and patriotism. By having us believe that those people gave thier lives for us, we would less reluctant to send our troops to give their lives for us. If they had just come out and said that they shot the plane down, we would forever wonder if they had died in vain.

As in my previous post regarding the similarities between the lead up to the Iraq war and the rhetoric going on about a possible war with Iran and a post regarding a statement that Israel could attack Iran by the end of the year, the beating of the war drums is getting louder and louder!

The US and Israel are banging the drums and the rumbling can be heard across the continents. There is even proof that congress approved the use of $400 million of our tax dollars to go ahead with a plan to try to overthrow the Iranian government from the inside.

The Israeli media stated that President Bush “told Israel’s Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that he could not trust America’s intelligence community and preferred to rely on Israeli intelligence.”

That alone says it all. War with Iran will happen whether or not all the intelligence that can be gathered says that Iran is NOT using it’s nuclear program to build weapons. Once again, Bush is going against the intelligence community in order to further his own personal agenda.

The American people are being duped all over again. It’s truly unbelievable.

Bush administration officials knew that a Texas oil company with close ties to President George W. Bush was planning to sign an oil deal with the regional Kurdistan government that runs counter to American policy and undercut Iraq’s central government, a congressional committee has concluded.

The conclusions were based on e-mail messages and other documents that the committee released Wednesday.

United States policy is to warn companies that they incur risks in signing contracts until Iraq passes an oil law and to strengthen Iraq’s central government. The Kurdistan deal, by ceding responsibility for writing contracts directly to a regional government, infuriated Iraqi officials. But State Department officials did nothing to discourage the deal and in some cases appeared to welcome it, the documents show.

The company, Hunt Oil of Dallas, signed the deal with the Kurdistan’s semiautonomous government last September. Its chief executive officer, Ray Hunt, a close political ally of Bush, briefed an advisory board to Bush on his contacts with Kurdish officials before the deal was signed.

In an e-mail message released by the congressional committee, a State Department official in Washington, briefed about the impending deal with the Kurdistan Regional Government, wrote: “Many thanks for the heads up; getting an American company to sign a deal with the KRG will make big news back here. Please keep us posted.”

In the no-bid contracts, the administration ultimately conceded that it had provided what it called purely technical help writing the contracts. The United States played no role in choosing the companies, the administration has said.

Disclosure of those contracts has provided fuel to critics of the Iraq war who contend that the enormous Iraqi oil reserves were a motivation for the invasion, an assertion the administration has repeatedly denied.

Many of the captured “terrorists” at Guantanamo turn out to be nothing more than your everyday lowlife criminal roaming the streets of Afghanistan or Iraq. After being arrested and jailed for an indefinite amount of time, abused, and/or tortured at the hands of American soldiers these detainees are eventually released when it is shown they have no real ties to Al-Queda or any other Islamic extremist group. Once free many of them wind up actually joining an Islamic Ji’ihad group when they become infurriated at America due to the treatment they were forced to withstand in prison. Just more proof that this war is actually producing more terrorists instead of thwarting terrorism.

GARDEZ, Afghanistan – Mohammed Naim Farouq was a thug in the lawless Zormat district of eastern Afghanistan. He ran a kidnapping and extortion racket, and he controlled his turf with a band of gunmen who rode around in trucks with AK-47 rifles.
U.S. troops detained him in 2002, although he had no clear ties to the Taliban or al Qaida. By the time Farouq was released from Guantanamo the next year, however – after more than 12 months of what he described as abuse and humiliation at the hands of American soldiers – he’d made connections to high-level militants.

In fact, he’d become a Taliban leader. When the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency released a stack of 20 “most wanted” playing cards in 2006 identifying militants in Afghanistan and Pakistan – with Osama bin Laden at the top – Farouq was 16 cards into the deck.

A McClatchy investigation found that instead of confining terrorists, Guantanamo often produced more of them by rounding up common criminals, conscripts, low-level foot soldiers and men with no allegiance to radical Islam – thus inspiring a deep hatred of the United States in them – and then housing them in cells next to radical Islamists.

The radicals were quick to exploit the flaws in the U.S. detention system.

Billions over Baghdad

Between April 2003 and June 2004, $12 billion in U.S. currency—much of it belonging to the Iraqi people—was shipped from the Federal Reserve to Baghdad, where it was dispensed by the Coalition Provisional Authority. Some of the cash went to pay for projects and keep ministries afloat, but, incredibly, at least $9 billion has gone missing, unaccounted for, in a frenzy of mismanagement and greed. Following a trail that leads from a safe in one of Saddam’s palaces to a house near San Diego, to a P.O. box in the Bahamas, the authors discover just how little anyone cared about how the money was handled.

This is very disturbing and, of course, not getting any coverage in any major news media outlet.

More than five years have passed since the invasion of Iraq, since President Bush stood under the “Mission Accomplished” banner on that aircraft carrier. While these fifth anniversaries got some notice, another did not: the shelling of the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad by a U.S. Army tank on April 8, 2003. The tank attack killed two unembedded journalists, Reuters cameraman Taras Protsyuk and José Couso, a cameraman for the Spanish television network Telecinco. Couso recorded his own death. He was filming from the balcony and caught on tape the distant tank as it rotated its turret and fired on the hotel. A Spanish court has charged three U.S. servicemen with murder, but the U.S. government refuses to hand over the accused soldiers. The story might have ended there, just another day of violence and death in Iraq, were it not for a young U.S. military intelligence veteran who has just decided to blow the whistle.

Said Kinne: “[W]e were listening to journalists who were staying in the Palestine Hotel. And I remember that, specifically because during the buildup to ‘shock and awe’ … we were given a list of potential targets in Baghdad, and the Palestine Hotel was listed. [P]utting one and one together, I went to my officer in charge, and I told him that there are journalists staying at this hotel who think they’re safe, and yet we have this hotel listed as a potential target, and somehow the dots are not being connected here, and shouldn’t we make an effort to make sure that the right people know the situation? And unfortunately, my officer in charge … basically told me that it was not my job to analyze … someone somewhere higher up the chain knew what they were doing.”

She said the officer in charge was Warrant Officer John Berry.

Kinne’s account directly contradicts the official line of the U.S. government. On May 2, 2003, Colin Powell, then secretary of state and a former general in the Army, visited Spain. He said of the Palestine Hotel: “We knew about the hotel. We knew that it was a hotel where journalists were located, and others, and it is for that reason it was not attacked during any phase of the aerial campaign.”

What is The Project for a New American Century (PNAC)?

You can’t find any information on their website, it is now non-existent. According to Wikipedia:

The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) was an American neoconservative think tank based in Washington, D.C., co-founded as “a non-profit educational organization” by William Kristol and Robert Kagan in early 1997. The PNAC’s stated goal is “to promote American global leadership.”[1] Fundamental to the PNAC are the views that “American leadership is both good for America and good for the world” and support for “a Reaganite policy of military strength and moral clarity.”[2] It has exerted strong influence on high-level U.S. government officials in the administration of U.S President George W. Bush and strongly affected the George Bush administration’s development of military and foreign policies, especially involving national security and the Iraq War.

Who is part of PNAC? To name just a few that REALLY matter: Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Scooter Libbey, and Paul Wolfowitz. Several more members were appointed to Bush’s cabinet. Sounds like Bush agrees with PNAC view on America’s role in the world and how it should be established.

Here is a couple snips from a very informative article that goes into detail about PNAC’s possible role in the September 11th attacks.

George W. Bush was elected in 2000, and his Vice President (Dick Cheney), the VP’s Chief of Staff (I. Lewis Scooter Libby), Secretary of Defense (Donald Rumsfeld), Deputy Secretary of Defense (Paul Wolfowitz), Deputy Secretary of State (Richard Armitage), and his appointed Ambassador to the UN (John R. Bolton) were all members of PNAC, as well as many members of his cabinet and his brother Jeb, who was Governor of Florida during the recount that made him president. PNAC published a 90 page report entitled “Rebuilding America’s Defenses: Strategies, Forces, and Resources for a New Century” which explains exactly how they planned to implement their program, and also states, “Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor.” They knew the American people wouldn’t go for the plan without a major catastrophe, and they were about to get it.

…Cheney and the Secret Service were running War Games on 9/11, “that placed ‘false blips’ on FAA radar screens. These war games eerily mirrored the real events of 9/11 to the point of the Air Force running drills involving hijacked aircraft as the 9/11 plot actually unfolded. The war games & terror drills played a critical role in ensuring no Air Force fighter jocks – who had trained their entire lives for this moment – would be able to prevent the attacks from succeeding. These exercises were under Dick Cheney’s management.”
